Floral Preservation

FAQ

  • What is floral preservation?
Floral Preservation is the process of removing all moisture from florals and greenery to dry them out so they can be kept and cherished.
  • How long does floral preservation take?
Here at Amaranthine Florals, our floral preservation process can take anywhere from four to nine months. This includes every step of the process from receiving your florals to our studio to when you receive your finished piece back.
  • Do you color correct the florals and greenery that you preserve?
Yes and no! If you have booked for an Artist Frame your florals and greenery will be color corrected to match as closely as possible to what they looked like fresh and in your wedding photos. If you booked for a Naturalist Frame your florals and greenery will NOT be color corrected. If you booked for a Floral Capsule your florals and greenery may or may not be color corrected depending on the type of flower or greenery. Color correction for Floral Capsules is up to the discretion of our Artists.
  • Will the colors of my flowers and greenery fade?
Yes and no! All florals and greenery will change color and fade during the preservation process to some degree. Although if you've booked for a preservation service that includes color correction, your florals will be color corrected and matched to resemble what your fresh florals looked like and the color will last. If you've booked for a preservation service that doesn't include color correction, than yes the colors of your florals and greenery will continue to fade and change over time.
  • Do you use all the flowers and greenery from my bouquet in my finished piece?
No. All viable florals and greenery will be preserved, but not every flower or piece of greenery will be used in your finished piece. This is due to some florals and greenery not making it through the preservation process and not all flowers/greenery will fit in the size piece you have chosen. Our Artists will use the best florals and greenery in your finished pieces. Left over florals and greenery will not be returned to the client.
  • Can my Artist Frame have double glass instead of a paper background?
No. Due to our preservation and reconstruction methods for our Artist Frames we are unable to properly seal them in a double glass frame. If you would like your florals preserved in a double glass frame, check out our Naturalist Frames!
  • Do I get choose the look of my pressed frame or floral block?
Yes, you are able to customize your pressed frame or floral capsule as far as frame size, color, background orientation, and general layout of the florals (i.e. frame orientation landscape of portrait, color of frame, background color, size and shape of frames and floral capsules, floral design layout such as scattered, bouquet, or floral fields.) As far as arranging the florals in the frames or in floral capsules, this is up to the discretion of Amaranthine Florals. We do not provide mock ups for client approval. Amaranthine Florals reserves the right to have and use creative license when it comes to the final design and product. Our goal at Amaranthine Florals is to make a custom floral preservation piece of art that you enjoy and reminds you of your wedding bouquet, while creating a piece of art that aligns with our artistic style.
  • Can you color correct my Naturalist Frame?
No, we do not offer the option to color correct Naturalist Frames. We preserve florals and greenery in our Naturalist Frames to appreciate and embrace their natural change during and after preservation. If you would like to have your florals and greenery color corrected, please check out our Artist Frames!
  • How soon do I need to have my florals delivered to you after my wedding or special event?
ASAP! We recommend to have your florals overnighted to our studio the next business day after your wedding. The sooner we receive your florals, the better! The better condition we receive them, the better they will preserve. All florals will need to be delivered or dropped off to our studio no later than 5 days after your wedding or event.
  • How do I get my bouquet to you?
You will either need to ship your bouquet to us the next business day after your wedding, or coordinate a local drop off to our studio here in North Carolina. Once you've submitted your order you will received a confirmation email from us, then a second email with shipping instructions that you will follow to ensure your bouquet arrives to us safe and sound. *Cost for shipping bouquet to Amaranthine Florals is clients responsibility and is not eligible for refund or able to be put towards cost of service.
  • Can I add a picture, invitation, wedding vows, or other sentimental piece in my pressed frame or floral capsule?
Yes! If you would like to include a memento in your Pressed Frame or Floral Capsule, please reach out through our contact form and make note of this in your order when checking out. *Please note we are only able to include FLAT mementos in Pressed Frames. All photos sent to be included in preservations need to be copies of original photos. Amaranthine Florals will not accept or use original photos in preservations.
  • How soon should I book my preservation?
You can book your preservation with us as soon as you have your wedding date. We book by wedding date and on a first come first serve basis. We only take a limited number of bouquets a week and don't accept bouquets later than 5 days after events so it is better to book well ahead of time to secure your spot.
  • Can you preserve my all white bouquet?
We are able to preserve all white bouquets, but we recommend to include some greenery because all white bouquets can tend to fall flat and lack dimension. Another thing to keep in mind with an all white bouquet is the different species of flowers dry and preserve differently in color. Some florals in your arrangement may dry ivory or yellow while others may dry brown, pink, grey, etc.
  • How does booking and payment work?
We require a 50% non refundable deposit and retainer to secure your wedding date. The remaining 50% and shipping isn't due until we've finished your preservation and its ready to be shipped back to you. We will send you your invoices and contract through our booking site once we've completed your floral preservation consultation and you're ready to secure your date.
